Values

Democracy

In St. Augustine's, children have the opportunity to have their voices heard through our School Council and Pupil Questionnaires. The election of our House Captains, as well as School Council Representatives are based on pupil votes. Classes may also organise opportunities for children to extend their votes for various reasons.

The Rule of Law

The importance of laws and rules, whether they are in the class, school or anywhere are consistently reinforced through our mission statement and every aspect of daily school-life. Each class has a Class Carter, developed and agreed by all. It outlines their rights and responsibilities.

Individual Liberty

In school, children are actively encouraged to make choices in a safe and supportive environment. We also advise on how to exercise these choices safely, for example during e-Safety and PSHE lessons.

Mutual Respects

Our school's mission statement focuses on love and respect in the way we engage with each other and the world around us. We are for one another and celebrate our differences.

Tolerance (Welcome)

As a Catholic school, we actively promote the celebration of different faiths and beliefs. We learn about other faiths through our RE curriculum and celebrations. St Augustine's is a very diverse school in terms of cultures, faith, race...
